Patek’s Iconic 5960 is Now in Rose Gold
by Mike Manjos on July 1st, 2009
In 2006, Patek Philippe launched its first automatic chronograph that included an annual calendar in platinum, the 5960P, and a star was born.
This year at the Basel Fair in Switzerland, Patek introduced a new version of this hugely popular watch in rose gold, the 5960R, and it promises to be just as much of a fan favorite.
The 18kt rose gold of the case, coupled with the lighter grey of the dial, gives the watch a softer, more retro feeling than the platinum version, while the matte brown alligator strap and adjustable deployant buckle add an elegant finishing touch to this horological masterpiece.
With a 40.5mm case, the watch has the easily readable day, date and month apertures; power reserve indicator; day/night display; plus the signature 60-minute and 12-hour monocounter at 6pm. The 5960R has a sapphire crystal back to showcase this complicated watch movement.
